Home Remedies for Winter Dryness

Girls would always like to look beautiful while for boys looking handsome is of equal importance; this makes them try out various things to enhance their outer look. This dullness is more visible in the winter months as there is dryness in the air causing irritation to the skin.

Your skin needs extra care during these winter months and to avoid dryness of the skin the need to moisturize the skin is more important. The use of cold creams, lotions and moisturizers are the best way to avoid dryness of the skin which is more clearly visible on certain body parts like the neck, face, lips, thighs, legs, hands etc. Most of these products are expensive and may or may not suit all skin and can cause more harm to your already dull and dry skin. There are home remedies that are not only inexpensive but are also effective and suit all types of skin without the fear of any reactions.

These home remedies have been passed on from generation to generation from ancient times and these home remedies are also easily available. These home remedies are useful and effective during those dry winter months and help you retain the glow on your face. A paste of mashed ripe avocado with 1 tsp. of wheat germ oil if applied on the skin and left for about 15-20 minutes and washed off with warm water keeps your skin soft and supple.

Using a moisturizing soap or a forming gel is recommended to keep your skin completely moisturized. Apply a hand and body moisturizing cream after bath to retain the moisture in the body. Applying sesame oil is also useful, wipe off this oil with a soft towel. Rinsing your body with warm water after a mixture of honey and milk is applied and left on the skin for 15-20 minutes is also beneficial. Softly massaging your body with equal quantity of sesame oil, mustard oil and olive oil is also known to benefit the skin.

A paste of peach or papaya mixed with avocado applied on the skin and washing it off after 20 minutes with warm water also brings back the soft glow on your face and skin. Use sunscreen even in winter also benefits and leaves your skin soft. Eating fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamin A is helpful. Drinking plenty of water also keeps your body completely hydrated. Honey is a good moisturizer and application of honey on the body gives the body plenty of moisture.

A pulp of grapes, cucumber, mango, banana to which honey is added if applied on the face and skin is effective in treating winter dryness of the skin. Application of egg yolk mixed with honey and yogurt on the face and skin not only makes your face and skin soft but also makes it glow.
