Stress has become a part of life what with the fast change in lifestyle. The reasons for stress are varied and stress is felt by children and adults, though the reasons for stress may vary.

First off all getting sufficient sleep is of utmost importance as sleep helps relieve stress and brings about a sense of well-being. You also need to change your outlook towards life and try to find ways and means to cultivate the habit of being happy and humorous.

Don’t get emotionally attached as this can also lead to stress. Cultivate a hobby or indulge in your favorite sports as this will be a way of recreation for you. Do the type of work or activity in which you find utmost satisfaction. Being positive or having a positive outlook towards life is important.

Yoga and meditation also helps relieve you of your stress. Ayurveda has herbs like Brahmi which is known to give relaxation to your brain and another herb Ashwagandha is used as a stress reliever and helps you calm your nerves. A mixture of ashwagandha and brahmi in a ratio of 1:2 allowed to steep in a glass of water for about 10-15 minutes and take3-4 times a day helps relax your mind.

Paste of clove with crystalline salt mixed with milk and applied on the forehead relieves you of headaches. Cultivate the habit of eating at least 5 almonds with a glass of hot milk. Taking a mixture of black pepper with honey or milk is also beneficial.

Neem powder rubbed on the forehead is also beneficial. Betel leaves applied on the head gives you a cooling effect. Application of a paste of ginger powder with water or milk also benefits.

Lying down for some time in a dark room gives you the much required peace. Ajwain or bishop’s weed is also used as a stress reliever. Applying a wet towel on your forehead also helps. A mixture of cinnamon powder with water applied on the forehead is also beneficial.

Eating jalapeno pepper helps relieve headache due to sinus. Apart from this do not overload your work schedule as this will also lead to stress. Time management is yet another way to help de-stress yourself.

Listening to light music or music that sooths your nerves also helps relieve stress. Walking and exercising also helps relieve you of stress. Socializing and meeting up with people will help relieve you of stress. Adopting pets also is a way to relieve you of stress.
