Diabetes is the increase in the sugar level in the body or rather the decrease in the insulin level in the body. 1 tablespoon of Bitter gourd or Karela if taken as often as possible daily is effective to reduce the level of sugar in your blood as well as in your urine. Vitamin C rich amla is also known to control the level of sugar and if this is taken daily along with bitter gourd juice for a few months enables the proper secretion of insulin in the pancreas, equal number of tulsi leaves, neem leaves and belpatras leaves taken in a glass of water on empty stomach helps control the sugar level in the blood. Butea tree leaves are also known to be effective in controlling diabetes as they are known to reduce the level of sugar in the blood. Two teaspoon of fenugreek powder with milk also helps control diabetes, seeds of the fenugreek also helps if swallowed daily is also known to help reduce the blood sugar level in the body.

A single dose of 250mg of shilajit powder if taken helps reduce the sugar level in the blood, juice of stone apple taken twice daily is an helpful remedy so also is eating fresh curry leaves in the morning for a few months not only controls diabetes but also helps prevent hereditary diabetes as well as helps cure diabetes due to other health disorders like obesity. Powdered seeds of Jamun, bitter melon and such other seeds are all useful in treating diabetes.

Apart from that avoid eating starchy foods like rice, potatoes, bread etc, oily foods, coffee, sugar, alcohol; refined flour should also be avoided. Eating small meals is advisable as it is easy to digest food in small quantities, following a low fat diet with plenty of vegetables like cucumber, spinach, fruits milk products like cheese, onion, sprouted beans, tomatoes and garlic are all known to lower the level of sugar in the body.

Stress is known to cause diabetes so living a stress free life is advisable, restrict the intake of foods like meat, mutton and junk foods as this will not only help control the body weight, cholesterol level in the body but also help control diabetes. Mango leaves are also effective in controlling diabetes these leaves are to be soaked in the water and left overnight and this portion should be taken on empty stomach.

1 teaspoon of dry mango leaves if powdered and taken in a glass of water every day is helpful in curing diabetes, leaves of sweet potatoes and ash gourd taken as it is or with herbal tea is also useful. This mixture can be taken any time of the day. Equal amounts of fenugreek powder, turmeric powder and amalaki powder taken with honey three times a day helps lowering the level of diabetes within a couple of months.
